After dedicating decades to a career in law, I've embarked on an exciting new journey as an artist, embracing my passions and creativity in ways I never imagined possible. Retirement has provided me with the freedom to explore my artistic side, allowing me to experiment with various mediums and techniques. Each brushstroke reflects not just my personal evolution, but also the many experiences and perspectives I gained as a lawyer. Art has become an outlet, a way to express my thoughts and emotions that were often constrained within the rigidity of law. As I share this journey, I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and explore the uncharted territories of their creativity, no matter the stage of life they are in.
What I do
My journey into the world of painting began as a way to avoid annoying my wife Lynne following my retirement. Lynne was studying psychology and after 45 years of work, I wanted to play. We reached a compromise. I found a hobby. Lynne finished her studies. Then we would travel. Now, traveling around Australia and overseas, we embrace the beauty of our surroundings by painting en plein air, capturing the essence of landscapes and vibrant scenery. I love sharing my artistic evolution and experiences through my YouTube channel, connecting with fellow enthusiasts, and inspiring others to explore their creativity. This chapter of my life has not only enriched my spirit but has also deepened the bond with Lynne as we create and share unforgettable moments. And I feel pretty good each time someone finds one of my paintings worth buying.
